Vaccinations and Health up keep
Your Shibee will be due to have their next booster vaccination done around 4 weeks after adoption and another vaccination 4 week’s after this.

This vaccination should be the C5 Protech C3 & kennel cough (Bordetella). Some Vaccinations do differ based on geography and area requirements.

You will be provided with a Puppy Vaccination record to provide to your Vet. From there your Vet will provide the information on vaccination schedules, de-worming and external parasite control.

We use Drontal Puppy Worming Suspension it is a liquid for the control of roundworm, hookworm and whipworms in our puppies. Everything needs to work together so discuss this with your Vet before the next does is required at 10 weeks.
-
8 weeks-we do this one and the micro-chip together
-
12 week C5 Vaccination and
-
16 week C5 Vaccination:-you will be following your Vet's health care plan.
Your puppy will require a worming treatment fortnightly (every 2 weeks) until they are 12 weeks old-then worming is once monthly until 6 months old. Again check in with your Vet for their professional advice.
Moving forward we use NexGard Spectra, we first offer this as a treat OR crush the chew tablet into food or wrap it in cheese if one of our dogs do not take it as a treat.
DISCUSS REPRODUCTIVE CONTROL
Unless otherwise agreed- you will not have an agreement to breed your puppy, therefore protection when your female is in heat/season, or a little man is excited is required.
Desexing is conversation for you with your Vet. You must take appropriate measures to prevent mis-matings.
If you do not already have a Vet that you are comfortable with, find one that you are. You need to work as a team with your Vet and have no second thoughts about contacting your Vet if you believe that your pet may be ill, injured, or if something just doesn’t seem right.

Keep a copy of your pet’s vaccination records and take them with you when you travel. If for any reason you need to board your Shiba they will require a copy of an up-to-date Vaccination record.
